Where It All Started
It was in 2001, when the earthquake in Kutch region of Gujarat, India tugged the heartstrings of Mike Patel. Call it providence, but at that time he was in the advisory team to the White House in the Advisory Commission on Asian-Americans and Pacific Islanders.
Since the President was also running the Clinton Global Initiatives, Mike Patel had to visit the earthquake-ravaged Gujarat to do the relief work. That was a slice of life that gave a new meaning to his already benevolent mind. Mike Patel later became a part of the “Realizing the Dream Inc.,” a charitable organization. He has been working all this while in improving relations between the ethnic communities across the world. He is also the proud recipient of the “Ellis Island Medal Of Honor in 2008” presented to outstanding Americans. He is looking forward to making more positive contributions to the world.
